Flatflips began in the most unglamorous place you can imagine… our basement. What started as a tiny side hustle for the two of us a husband-and-wife team who loved creating beautiful things slowly started taking over our weekends, then our evenings, then pretty
much every corner of the room.
We didn’t plan for it to become a full-time business. We just kept getting messages from people who wanted custom, handcrafted wedding albums that felt personal and premium. One order turned into five, five turned into twenty, and suddenly we were spending more time crafting albums than doing our regular jobs.
At some point, we looked at each other and said the obvious thing: this isn’t a “side” anything anymore. This is the thing. So we took the leap. Flatflips became our entire world, and that basement workshop turned into a business that now reaches customers across the globe.
Why We Love Creating Wedding Albums
Before Flatflips ever existed, we were just two corporate visual designers who obsessed over the little details most people never notice. Design was already a big part of our lives, but when we got married, something shifted. We wanted our own wedding album to feel like us — something intentional, something crafted, something with soul.
So we decided to design it ourselves.
The day our album arrived, we sat together and flipped through those pages… and honestly, that feeling is hard to explain. It wasn’t just photos on paper. It was our story, preserved in a way we could touch. It felt real. Permanent. Meaningful. That moment changed everything for us.
